About us

Crest Furniture first opened its doors in the early nineties, and is currently family owned and managed by Linda and Neal Southern. They acquired ownership of Crest in October 2010, shortly after relocating to New Zealand from Cape Town.

Back in Cape Town they owned a highly successful manufacturing and décor business, which they built up over twelve years from modest beginnings. Having decided to sell up and move on they chose New Zealand as their new home, where they say “the grass really is greener.”

With them, they bring to Crest a renewed enthusiasm for design, a fresh new look for their showroom and an absolute commitment to manufacturing in New Zealand. Along with that they plan to build on Crest’s already fine reputation for quality, service and integrity.

Over the years they have formed the ideal team, where Linda’s impeccable eye for style shines through, and Neal’s design skills are instantly noticeable. Linda is very much front of house, giving Crest its ‘look’ and selecting the range of products available. She has really found her niche by providing clients with the perfect product selection, choice of fabrics and other general décor advice.

Neal’s exceptional design skills enable Crest to blend the ideal proportions, comfort and quality of product, with the practicality of manufacturing. He prefers spending his time on the factory floor, with sketch pad in hand, turning his ideas into reality. However he does like to get hands on and help out wherever he is needed. This enables him to keep a close eye on all steps through the manufacturing process, ensuring Crest continue to manufacture products of the highest standard.
